Brazil’s job is done. Led by Vini Jr., Brazil defeated Scotland 3-0 this Wednesday (24) in Miami, advancing to the World Cup knockout stage as Group C leaders.
The national team qualified in first place in Group C of the 2026 World Cup with seven points. Morocco finished second with the same point total but behind on goal difference after beating Haiti.
With his goals against Scotland, Vini Jr. reached four goals in this World Cup, cementing his status among the main contenders for player of the tournament.
The match at Hard Rock Stadium also marked the 2026 World Cup debut of Neymar Jr., the fourth of his career. He played for about 20 minutes in the second half, coming on when the 3-0 scoreline was already established.
Now, the Brazilian national team awaits the runner-up of Group F to learn its opponent in the round of 32, which could be the Netherlands, Japan, or Sweden. The knockout match will take place on Monday (29) at 2:00 PM (Brasília time) in Houston.
