After declining his $49 million player option last week, unrestricted free agent guard Trae Young has decided to stay with the Washington Wizards, signing a four-year contract worth approximately $212 million, ESPN reported on Monday.
Back in January, Trae stated that if he were traded by the Atlanta Hawks, he only wanted to be dealt to one team: the Wizards. Now, he demonstrates his commitment to remaining in Washington and elevating the team’s young core alongside Alex Sarr, Kyshawn George, Tre Johnson, Will Riley, Bub Carrington, and whichever prospect the Wizards select with the No. 1 overall pick.
